Appreciation

Appreciation does bestow a joy 

Which cannot truly be explained away. 

Without it one will languish in dismay 

Not ever knowing what strengths to employ. 

Unheard, unseen one feels he does annoy 

His mere existence simply to decay, 

All efforts are ignored, you feel astray 

A pointless journey no one can enjoy.  

If with great luck, you find one who inspires, 

Who also sees your worth and lets you know, 

The wind begins to fill your sails, now set. 

And speeding on your way, support requires 

Appreciation you'll now always show 

The suffocating lack you'll not forget.
