Majestic goals will in the mind arise
When in the realm of waking sleep you drift
And ponder failures past, are they but lies
When gazing forward, seeking spirits lift?
Forfend denial of the times you strove
Without success and had to start again.
Success is not the greatest treasure trove
For lessons beneficial to all men.
Oft times the triumphs that we seek are born
Of battles fought that we have lost within.
To stand up after falling breeds no scorn
For only in surrender lies the sin.
Life's not a race against the multitude
It's all you've overcome in solitude.
