Ignore the Dark  

The blasted terrace rising round my mind 

Obscures the soothing rays of light I need 

To see the path beyond my present bind.  

To feel my way in darkness to proceed 

I only need to mine the light within 

That's always there, my guide that's guaranteed.  

This ever present friend has always been 

Available in times filled with duress 

No matter what I face I must begin.  

The first step frees the light, I must impress 

Upon myself to boldly walk ahead, 

Ignore the darkness and to find success.  

Allow the dark to win and I'm confined. 

This light is where my freedom is defined.
