Va Tutto bene?
They say that all is fair in love and war,
Yet Augustine did not agree, nor did
That good Aquinas all things not forbid.
When first we seize desire to explore
Such eloquent excuses, we deplore.
Oft that expansive battlefield amid
The innocent that stand to underbid
That one thing keeping us from distant shores.
Thus far we've searched without a goal in mind.
Did Cicero know that for which we seek
In banning wartime actions? Do we find
We halt our deeds for that which we assigned
Necessitating souls to be not meek?
In this discussion I cannot define.
